At the end of 2018 we sold the Dunbar house that we had called home for 20 plus years with a plan to downsize. This lead to the purchase of a 40 year old Arbutus Ridge condo where it became evident that our house size furniture and the condo space were not compatible.
We were in need of sideboards for efficient dining room storage. This resulted in contacting Ron at Collectors Custom Furniture.
We knew Ron’s work from the late 1970s when he built us a dining table and chairs. On completion of two sideboards, with which we are extremely pleased, we discussed the possibility of modernizing the table and chairs.
Another success thanks to design input from Ron. It was a very satisfying experience dealing with Ron. He is a true craftsman with a wealth of experience and who obviously loves his work. We have no hesitation in recommending Collectors Custom Furniture!

Two sideboards under construction.
The finished sideboards have all drawers and doors with soft close mechanisms.
Dining table and chairs before remodelling, originally custom made in January 1978.
The leaves were add-ons at the ends of the top, and the backs of the chairs have the finger pulls.
The remodelled dining table with the addition of two leaves which can be stored within the table when not in use. With leaves in place we are calling it “Covid mode”! The fabric on the chair back might look odd, but it ties into the carpet and furniture colours in the living room which is one big space.
